Note from webmaster JD:

My Balti Review site is now closed.

My thanks go to all who have contributed reviews (good or bad) over the past 6 years or so.

I started-off collecting and passing on your views and reviews of Balti restaurants in Birmingham & Solihull - My (simple) web site started-off in 1999 and back then was restricted to close friends and family so that we could share our Balti experiences. Back then, going "for a balti" was a bit of an adventure in that the surroundings tended to be basic, the food presented simply, and prices very low indeed.

Much of this atmosphere remains, but to be honest, there is not much difference now between "going for a balti" and "going for a curry". Heck! they even have table cloths and cutlery these days!

Well, that's fine - the food is just as good and the extra attention paid to surroundings, cleanliness, service etc is most welcome. The fact remains that the excitement and adventure are now things of the past and Balti restaurants share their offerings with most other eateries.

I'll continue to visit the "Balti triangle" regularly, and my love of Balti fayre is no less now than ever before - It's simply that there is no need for my review site any longer, and I acknowledge other sites do it bigger, better and more professionally:- try these...
